Situation Update
  • 12 new cases of COVID-19 announced in BC in the last 48 hours, for a total of 272 active cases.

  • 4 new COVID-19 related deaths, all linked to Langley Lodge long-term care facility, reported in the last 48 hours, for a total of 161 deaths in BC.

  • Of the total COVID-19 cases, 37 individuals are hospitalized, 7 of whom are in intensive care.

  • The total number of reported COVID-19 cases in the province is 2,530. 2,102 people who tested positive have recovered (83% of cases).

  • There have been no new health care outbreaks. In total, 14 long-term care or assisted-living facilities and 2 acute-care units have active outbreaks.

  • There have been no new community outbreaks. Public health teams continue to provide support to existing outbreaks at federal corrections facilities and Nature’s Touch frozen fruit processing plant in Abbotsford.

You are invited to participate in a virtual town hall for all Providence staff, medical staff, researchers and volunteers on Thursday, May 28, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

PARKING UPDATE

Providence continues to provide free parking to patients and staff on its sites and will do so until further notice from the Ministry.  Where capacity is limited, particularly at St. Paul’s Hospital, staff are encouraged to use the free parking for health care workers that will be provided by the City of Vancouver until May 31. Please refer to the guidelines here.

COVID-19 CAN’T HOLD OFF DAILY RADIO SHOW AT HOLY FAMILY

Because large entertainment activities are on hold due to COVID-19 mitigation strategies, care team members at Holy Family have created a daily radio show over the public address system every day at 11 a.m.
