Situation Update
  • For Friday: there are 617 new cases of COVID-19 total of 56,632 cases in B.C.
  • Active cases: 6,118
  • Currently hospitalized with COVID-19: 358
    •  75 of whom are in intensive care.
  • New cases by health authority region:
    • VCH – 139
    • Fraser Health – 320
    • Island Health - 27
    • Interior Health - 81
    • Northern Health - 49
  • Currently, 8,755 people are under active public health monitoring as a result of identified exposure to known cases
  • There have been 18 new COVID-19-related deaths, for a total of 988 COVID-related deaths in the province.
  • Since the start of immunizations, 46,259 people have received a COVID-19 vaccine in B.C. The current focus is to ensure vaccines are safely delivered as quickly as possible to communities across the province, using all available supply.

PROVINCIAL HEALTH OFFICER PROVINCE-WIDE ORDERS EXTENDED UNTIL FEB. 5

By order and direction of the Provincial Health Officer (PHO), all events and social gatherings are suspended to significantly reduce COVID-19 transmission related to social interactions and travel.
