Youville: Long Term Care: 2nd & 3rd Floor
This email update is forwarded on behalf of Ashley Payne, Interim Site Manager, Youville and Liz Clarke, Interim Patient Care Manager, Parkview/Mental Health Program
Dear Youville Residents and Families:
We are pleased to advise you that the period of Enhanced Surveillance that was called on Monday, January 25 at Youville Residence has been declared over by Public Health, effective today.
The Enhanced Surveillance had been called after a staff member had been diagnosed with COVID-19. Public Health had determined that the exposure to residents and other staff was low in risk with no close contacts having been identified. The Parkview Tertiary Mental Health floors were not impacted and regular activities continued for those clients.
We appreciate that such COVID-related events can be very concerning and emotionally challenging, especially if they impact visitation or the day-to-day routines of your loved ones in our care. Please know that our care teams worked daily with Public Health and the Providence Pandemic Response Team to ensure residents’ safety and continuity of care. No other staff members or residents were diagnosed with COVID-19 during the Enhanced Surveillance period.
Thank you for your patience, cooperation and understanding. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any comments, questions or concerns.
If you need to reach PHC’s Infection Prevention and Control Team (IPAC), please call local 69357. Do not contact individual IPAC team members.
