Brock Fahrni: Third Floor
The following message was sent to Brock Fahrni residents and families on Dec. 30, 2020, on behalf of Ursula Piotrowski, Site and Resident Services Manager, Brock Fahrni Pavilion:
We are pleased to advise you that the period of enhanced surveillance that was called on December 18, 2020, for Brock Fahrni’s third floor has been declared over by Public Health, effective today. The enhanced surveillance had been called after a staff member had been diagnosed with COVID-19.
The situation didn’t impact or impede the provision of care; third floor residents (or those on other floors) were not restricted to their rooms; and they continued to have access to all long term care common areas. Normal group and individual activities continued for residents, and the existing visitation protocols were not curtailed.
I know each one of these COVID-related situations can be stressful. I want to assure you that Providence Health Care takes such situations extremely seriously, providing a diverse team of experts and care providers — including from Public Health and infection control — to ensure the safety of our residents and staff.
Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation. Please don’t hesitate to contact us should you have any questions or concerns.
If you need to reach PHC’s Infection Prevention and Control Team (IPAC), please call local 69357. Do not contact individual IPAC team members.
