Holy Family Hospital Long Term Care

We are pleased to share that the COVID-19 outbreak at Holy Family Hospital Long Term Care has been declared over.  As there have been no resident and no new staff cases of COVID-19, Vancouver Coastal Health Public Health has officially declared the outbreak over as of today, Monday, November 23, 2020.

An outbreak was previously declared at Holy Family Hospital Long Term Care (LTC on 3rd Floor) on November 13, 2020 by Public Health Officers. The outbreak does not encompass Holy Family’s Rehabilitation Program (2nd Floor), and its services and clinics are not impacted.

Public Health has determined that the exposure to LTC residents and other staff was low in risk with no close contacts have been identified. Additionally, no problems with use of personal protective equipment were identified, and the two positive staff were not symptomatic during their last shifts. No LTC residents or care staff have been diagnosed with COVID-19. However, out of an abundance of caution, enhanced surveillance and infection control measures have been implemented and an outbreak of COVID-19 has been formally declared.
