Youville: Long Term Care
The following message was sent to patients, residents, families, physicians and staff at Youville on January 1, 2021 on behalf of Ashley Payne, Interim Site Manager, Youville and Liz Clarke, Interim PCM – Mental Health Program:
We are pleased to advise you that the period of enhanced surveillance that was called on Wednesday, December 23, for Youville Long Term Care has been declared over by Public Health, effective the end of January 1, 2021.
The enhanced surveillance was called after a staff member had been diagnosed with COVID-19. Public Health had determined that the exposure to residents and other staff was low in risk and since that time, no further residents or staff have tested positive.
Parkview, located on the 4th and 5th floors of the site, has remained unaffected throughout this period of enhanced surveillance.
We understand that these COVID-related situations can be stressful and we want to thank you for your continued patience and cooperation as our diverse team of experts — including from Public Health and infection control — stepped in to ensure the safety of our residents and staff here at Youville.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us should you have any questions or concerns.
With best wishes for a Happy New Year.
