This email update is forwarded on behalf of Dr. Alex Choi, Medical Health Officer, Vancouver Coastal Health and Sandy Barr, Program Director, Medicine, PHC. Please print and post for those not on email.

Dear Mount Saint Joseph Hospital patients, families, staff, medical staff and contracted staff,

We are pleased to advise you that the enhanced surveillance precautions implemented on Monday, January 11th for Mount Saint Joseph Hospital 4 East have been lifted by Public Health, effective today.

The enhanced surveillance precautions were put in place as a precautionary measure after a patient on 4E tested positive. Public Health determined that the risk of exposure to patients and other staff on 4E was low. No further patient or staff cases on 4 East were diagnosed during the enhanced surveillance period. There are no COVID-19 patients currently on 4 East.

The current outbreak precautions on 3C continue to be in place. Since the outbreak on 3C began, six staff and no additional patients have been diagnosed with COVID-19.

Thank you for your ongoing support, patience and cooperation.
