On July 23rd Providence Health Care will join health care organizations around the world in celebration of Hello my name is… Day, and to honour the legacy of Dr. Kate Granger, the founder of this initiative.

A simple introduction is a crucial first step in creating an authentic connection with our patients, resident and families. We encourage staff across Providence Health Care to introduce themselves with every interaction. A better patient and resident experience all starts with “hello”.

To celebrate Hello my name is… day this year, we are calling for nominations to recognize Hello my name is…Champions. Nominate a co-worker that you think embodies the core values of this campaign. They will be entered to win a Hello my name is… prize pack and will be recognized for their exemplar practice in person and family centred care.

The Core values of Hello my name is…

Communication: Timely and effective communication with patients starts with a simple introduction

The little things: Things as simple as sitting down next to patients or residents instead of looming over them or holding the elevator door open for someone.

Clients are at the heart of all decisions: “No decision about me, without me”

See me: See the person first and remember that individuals are more than just an illness, they are a family member, a friend, a loved one

Follow this link to submit nominations. Deadline for submissions is July 12th. Prize winners will be announced through PHC News on July 23rd.
