ST. PAUL’S LAB HAS PERFORMED 100,000 COVID-19 TESTS

The lab at St. Paul’s Hospital marked a milestone moment this week and performed its 100,000th COVID-19 test.

On Thursday, the lab hit the six-digit number (the team set up an online dashboard to count down (or up) to the 100,000 mark).

To celebrate the occasion, the hard-working lab team was treated to cupcakes topped with decorative edible plaques emblazoned with the number 100,000.

St. Paul’s Hospital is one of the main centres in B.C. for testing COVID-19, performing up to 800 tests per day. It started testing for COVID-19 on Feb. 14, pivoting quickly to accommodate the new virus.
