VACCINE UPDATE FOR APRIL 16: SECOND DOSE APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE FOR HEALTH CARE WORKERS WHO RECEIVED THEIR FIRST DOSE ON OR BEFORE JANUARY 2

Submitted by the Regional COVID-19 Vaccination Program Planning Team

Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and excitement through the first phases of the provincial COVID-19 Immunization Plan. We are happy to share that more than 1.2 million doses of vaccine have been administered in B.C., many of which helped protect our province’s front-line and essential health-care workers. We continue to offer vaccine to health-care providers who work in the Vancouver Coastal Health region.

FIRST-DOSE APPOINTMENTS

Health-care workers who work in the Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) region who have not yet received their first dose may book an appointment at one of the clinics listed below. The booking links are valid and functioning, but some may not yet have appointments available. If you do not see appointments right away, please check back frequently. SECOND-DOSE APPOINTMENTS

Following provincial and national recommendations, we are offering second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine 16 weeks after the first dose. Second doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be offered next week for staff and medical staff who received their first dose on or before Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021.

Staff who are eligible for their second dose should book an appointment at one of the clinics listed below; appointments will be available to book after 3 p.m. on Friday. Select the button for second doses to see available appointment times. Please bring your paper record of immunization to the clinic; those who don't will have their eligibility confirmed through the provincial immunization database, which may result in a longer wait.

PLEASE NOTE: If you received your first dose of vaccine after Jan. 2, you are not yet eligible for your second dose. We assure you that you will receive your second dose according to the provincial timeline. If you book an appointment to receive your second dose before you have been invited to do so, you will be turned away at the clinic.
